Married to Jesus
I recently heard someone say (and I really do believe this now), that the relationship between a husband & wife is supposed to be an example of the relationship that God invites us to. I think that's extremely beautiful. But at the same time, hard to believe. Especially when 51% of "Christians" get divorced. Now, I'm not married, but through my parents and other couples I know, I believe God did something spectacular by allowing ordinary people to mirror His love for us. What do you think about all this?

I have heard it before. I have said it. I still do not know what to think of it. People speak of God as a father and as one they are married to (usually not at the same time though). I find it hard to deny the intimacy Christ calls us to but I am not sure if it is more like a father or a lover. Both images of God are beautiful and help in grasping a fuller picture of God.
